Labour conditions in Asia: are investors and businesses on the same page?

This session explores investor expectations and persistent business challenges relating to labour conditions in the supply chain in Asia and beyond. It opens with remarks from an investor and a company.  The moderator will then invite questions and comments from the audience.  The aim of the session is to boost mutual understanding of the challenges and opportunities in this area.  To encourage an active exchange, the number of participants in the session will be limited.

Businesses to Investors:

Why are working conditions in the supply chain an issue for investors?

What are your expectations of business in this regard?

How do you see your role with respect to working conditions in the supply chain?

What strategies have you had the most success with in terms of encouraging business to improve working conditions in their supply chain?

Investors to Businesses:

Supply chain management has become increasingly sophisticated, why do challenges persist?

What is business doing to meet these challenges?

What can investors do that would help businesses to improve labour conditions in the supply chain?
